They operate as on online retailer in both Canada and the US.Reporting to the Controller, the Payroll Specialist is a key member of the shared services accounting team. They are result oriented and apply their experience to ensure the timely processing of payroll for both our US and Canadian Associates. They are responsible for completing current processes and procedures, but they are also curious and look for opportunities to streamline and improve. If you are excited to add to the foundation of a growing business and are ready to develop your leadership skills, then this is the role for you.DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Process bi-weekly payroll across all companies for our Canadian and American associates while ensuring that earnings (and deductions) are accurately processed based on preapproved timesheets
  • With assistance from Accounts Payable Supervisor, ensure all expense reimbursements are processed
  • Remit all source deductions on a timely basis
  • With support from Controller, calculate, accrue, and remit compliance related filings (WorksafeBC, WSIB, Washington L&I, and new registrations, as required
  • Ensure all discontinuations of employment are processed timely and accurately, including calculation of final pay and submission of ROE (or other government filing)
  • Liaise with People and Culture Team as needed
  • Responsible for processing all garnishment orders and related deductions
  • Complete year end payroll tasks including registrar reconciliations, production of tax slips, and submitting government filings
SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS:
  • 2–4-years’ experience in full-cycle payroll administration ideally in Canadian and US payroll
  • Canadian Payroll Association (PCP or CPM) is preferred
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
  • Extremely well organized, accurate, with superb attention-to-detail
  • Ability to meet deadlines while maintaining accuracy
  • Previous experience with UKG payroll system would be an asset
