People & Culture AdministratorSmythe LLP is seeking a capable People & Culture Administrator in our downtown Vancouver office. Are you looking for an opportunity to apply your HR education and knowledge We are looking for a quick study with a great attitude, to support the day-to-day operations of the People and Culture team. This is an opportunity to be mentored by tenured professionals in the P&C field. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter, organized, with strong communication skills. This position will in the office a minimum of two days a week and may work remotely for the balance of the week if not required for in-person meetings.Our firmSmythe LLP is a leading professional services firm with offices in Vancouver, Langley and Nanaimo. Learn more about us at www.smythecpa.com.The opportunityAs part of the People & Culture Team (currently four people) you will be responsible for supporting recruitment and onboarding, employee relations, project work and general administration. This is a great role for someone looking to gain more generalist experience in HR and to be developed for the next level, while working with a friendly and supportive team. Your day-to-day • Assists with the operations of the People and Culture team and performs general administrative/coordinator dutiesYour day-to-day

  • Assists with the operations of the People and Culture team and performs general administrative/coordinator duties
  • Supports recruitment preparing postings, screening candidates, scheduling interviews, and administration of the applicant tracking system (Taleo, Oracle)
  • Assists with management and maintenance of our online performance management system and maintains employee records
  • Contributes to employee relations activities, assists with events and employee programs
  • Supports internal communication, maintains current information on intranet, responds to employee and candidate queries
  • Participates in the health and wellness initiatives of the firm
  • Participates in P&C projects including rollout of new initiatives, policy reviews, and more
What we’re looking for
  • One or more years of experience in HR, along with a post-secondary degree in business or HR OR an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Proficient in Office 365 (Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)
  • Experience with applicant tracking systems or Taleo would be advantageous
  • Good customer service skills and willingness to help
  • Proven ability to multi-task and manage priorities with strong organization skills and attention to detail
  • Recognizes the explicit importance of maintaining employee confidence and ensures human resources information remains confidential
  • Strong communication skills and command of English, both oral and written

You will need to
  • Attend your primary office location at least two set core days a week and additional days as needed for the role
  • Occasional extra hours and attendance at events outside the regular work week
  • Be able to lift up to 25 lbs
