As a non-profit, we help people develop skills and knowledge, empowering our neighbours to create positive change in their lives. Our team is made up of more than 420 staff, including expert counsellors and support workers who provide compassionate, client-centered care to youth experiencing homelessness, families and children impacted by trauma, victims of domestic violence, and other vulnerable people from an evidence-based, trauma-informed lens. We believe in building a brighter future for all British Columbians and providing a supportive and inclusive workplace for all our staff.Working within the mission, vision, values and person-centered philosophy of the Agency, this temporary position as a PRIYD Assistant Manager is responsible for the management, quality, and supervision of operations within PRIYD. As a collaborative member of the management team, the Assistant Manager supervises staff members, participates in budgeting, and fosters relationships with funders and other internal and external parties. The Assistant Manager will work with colleagues and co-workers in collaboration with key internal and external stakeholders to achieve excellence in client and family centered care, within a complex community-based environment. In addition, the Assistant Manager will provide leadership, supervision, and support, participating in program planning and development and ensuring that service contract, agency, and accreditation standards are met while networking with other agencies and the larger community.   • Minimum Bachelors Degree in Social Work or related discipline
  • Minimum 3-5 years recent experience of working with children and youth with special needs
  • Minimum 2 years recent leadership experience
  • Experience meeting with families and conducting client assessments to determine service needs
  • Experience with case management and liaison with community partners, ie. MCFD Social Workers, Behavioral Consultants, Occupational Therapist, Physiotherapist, Psychiatrist, etc.
  • Or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
  • Awareness and expertise around different developmental disabilities and support strategies
  • Knowledge of MCFD services and navigation of their system to wrap around services for families
  • Proficiency facilitating meetings with clients, families, and staff
  • Ability to develop and maintain stakeholder and community relationships
  • Excellent verbal and written communication
  • Ability to consider and construct practices which acknowledge and incorporate the experiences of persons who are marginalized on the basis of gender, race/ethnicity, economic status, language, culture, age, disability, sexual orientation/identity and/or gender-identity
