Apply today to join our team!As a Procurement Advisor with Vancouver Coastal Health you will:

  • Support the program areas (internal clients) within Vancouver Coastal Health (VCH) by facilitating sourcing and contract strategy and procurement options analysis.
  • Draft, edit and review standard form contracts, considering the program needs and organizational risk and policy compliance within VCH.
  • Source services at competitive prices and advise program areas on which supplier to contract with, you will take a proactive approach in identifying trends and creating process oriented solutions that can be translated into procedures and policies, improving organizational and departmental efficiency.
  • Provide advice on category management best practices through the stages of contract strategy/planning, procurement/competitive process, contract negotiation/award, and ongoing management.
  • Manage many concurrent projects and balance competing priorities based on a broad understanding of organizational needs and working with legal counsel, operations and finance and research legislation and regulations to ensure procurement processes are up to date.
QUALIFICATIONS:Education & Experience
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Health Services Administration, Business Administration or relevant health care discipline.
  • Four (4) to seven (7) years recent, related experience in procurement, negotiation and contract execution, preferably in the public sector and facilitating and managing consultation processes with a wide range of stakeholder groups.
  • Current registration with relevant professional College/Association, if applicable.
Knowledge & Abilities
  • Demonstrated knowledge and use of contract language.
  • Excellent writing and editing skills in the development and revision of contracts.
  • Ability to utilize negotiation skills when liaising with suppliers on schedules and pricing.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
  • Ability to coordinate and evaluate processes and procedures.
  • Excellent communication skills to function within a complex interdisciplinary environment including ability to communicate with the clinical staff.
  • Ability to plan, organize, problem solve, analyze and prioritize work with a strong attention to detail.
  • Strong proficiency with and ability to develop systems using a variety of computer software includingdatabase applications, internet-based applications and MS Office.
  • Physical ability to perform the duties of the position.
