Job Description

Overview:WildBrain is looking for a Producer in our Vancouver studio. We’re seeking a Producer with extensive production experience and expertise to organize and steer of our television productions. This includes overseeing all aspects of production including planning scope and scheduling – from scripts, voice records, storyboards, animation and post-production through delivery to broadcasters. You must have strong knowledge of the production process to establish strategies for meeting key deliverables and milestones.In the Night Garden has been a staple of kids’ TV for over a decade, as a show uniquely designed to relax and calm its audience while entertaining them. Created by the team that brought you Teletubbies, the original style of In the Night Garden included a mix of live action costumed actors, puppetry, stop-motion and 2D animation. Our goal is to retain this original diverse, imaginative style while moving the show fully into photorealistic 3D animation, produced in our Unreal Engine pipeline.Join us as we recreate a large cast of wonderfully silly characters beloved by children and parents worldwide, and take them on brand new imaginative journeys to new places and new friends. Set in a magical forest, dappled with beautiful sunlight and colourful flowers, the series has a stunning look and a whimsical nursery rhyme picture book feel, as well as musical elements. This magical series is a very special one, and we are excited to be part of it.We are currently working virtually because of the Covid-19 pandemic. During this time our hiring teams are ready to support interviews via video conferencing, and we are enabling artists to work from home until the studio can reopen. We’d love to hear from you! #stayhomestaysafe!Responsibilities:Establishing and defining the production plan - including schedules, budgets and all deliverables in collaboration with all departments, dependencies and inter-dependencies of Production to facilitate delivery on the creative vision of the seriesPreparing and advising on budgets and monitoring financial scope and schedulingEvaluating scripts to assess and assign cost of creative productionIdentifying and implementing the production resources necessary to support the projectConducting meetings with Producers, Technical team and Supervisors to assess day to day project requirements and ensure continued progressFlagging potential problems and proactively designing and seeking solutions to ensure project milestones and deadlines are metPartnering with talent development to determine and advise on crew needsInspiring and maximizing communication amongst the creative teamAdditional duties as requestedQualifications:5+ years of experience in Production Management for television productions, including at least 3+ years of experience on animated projects3+ years of experience as Producer for in television productionsThorough knowledge of 2D/3D animation and the production pipeline, including pre-production and post-productionExperience managing production budgets over $10M+Experience dealing with high profile clientsExperience working with overseas production facilitiesBachelor’s Degree/Diploma in a related fieldExceptional communication and interpersonal skills and the diplomacy to balance the creative expectations with the financial resources availableStrong organizational skills and attention to detailYou are driven, innovative, strategic and solution focusedYou have strong leadership skills, and the ability to work well with a diverse creative teamWhy WildBrainAt WildBrain Studios our teams dig into a diverse range of projects – from preschool and comedy to action-adventure, and work with international partners such as Apple, Netflix, LEGO, DreamWorks, BBC, Cartoon Network, Nickelodeon and more.
