Job Description SummaryAt STEMCELL, we are Scientists Helping Scientists. Life science research is always evolving so we need Product Managers who can seamlessly connect the scientific, engineering, and business worlds, and are continuously adapting and excited to work on products that drive research forward every day.The Product Manager for Instruments will contribute to STEMCELL’s goal of helping scientists by managing an exciting portfolio of new and existing automated laboratory instrument systems. With strong business and market expertise and regular interactions with customers and KOLs, you will represent the voice of the market and customer values across the company. Working collaboratively with R&D, Operations, Sales and Marketing, you will drive the design, development, and commercialization of our next generation of bioscience instruments. By translating your deep understanding of customer needs and applications, as well as the competitive landscape, you will develop and execute effective strategies across your product portfolio that maximize revenue, increase market share, and ensure STEMCELL’s continued global success.   • Develop a deep understanding of our customers’ needs and trends in key markets to support the creation of one- to ten-year strategic business plans that drive new technology, product and application development for your portfolio
  • Serve as a product, technology and market expert across the company and act as a key interface to the scientific community, building relationships with KOLs, meeting with customers to understand their needs, and attending scientific conferences
  • Work cross-collaboratively with R&D, Operations and Regulatory to define user requirements and move new product(s) efficiently through the commercialization pipeline to product launch, and with Sales and Marketing to provide product and market insights (i.e. delivering training, tools and guidance on key market trends, competitive landscape, customer segmentation, product and portfolio positioning and pricing)
  • Manage the product life cycle for one or more existing instruments and associated products by working cross-functionally to implement initiatives that support STEMCELL’s global market segment strategies
  • Track and report on the commercial performance of the assigned product line(s) and their respective markets to a diverse group of stakeholders
Knowledge and Qualifications
  • MSC or PhD in bio-engineering or related field of engineering or life science research with strong data manipulation and interpretation skills; experience with laboratory instrumentation and equipment is strongly preferred
  • 5+ years of relevant product management and product commercialization experience is strongly preferred, as is a foundational understanding of mechanical, electrical and software engineering principles and practices
  • Exceptional leadership, communication (verbal, written, and presentation) and interpersonal skills, with proven experience building strong relationships with stakeholders and key opinion leaders.
  • Experience with project management and project planning, including coordinating multiple projects with varying deadlines, working collaboratively, and adjusting flexibly to rapidly changing priorities.
  • Knowledge of country-specific regulatory requirements is helpful
