Job Description

Agro Roasters is an organic coffee roaster located in Vancouver, and a key player in the continuously growing specialty coffee industry in Canada. We pride ourselves in producing high-quality, accessible coffee to grocery stores, cafes and restaurants, and directly to consumers, while supporting farmers and their families across the world.We have an immediate opening for a full-time production worker position, Monday-Friday, 7am-3:30pm.Please note that while experience is an asset, we are willing to train the right person. Being a good fit for the team is extremely important. We are a tight knit group who works hard and who values a positive and collaborative work environment.Reporting to the Production Supervisor, you will be responsible for packaging coffee, operating packaging machinery and preparing shipments. You will also occasionally meet with customers who come to the roastery to pick up orders in person:

  • Learn about and be able to identify different coffees and roast profiles
  • Accurately label bags according to coffee type and roast date
  • Operate packaging equipment to ensure bags are filled correctly
  • Ensure bags are properly filled, sealed, and orders are complete
  • Properly store and use coffee according to health standards
  • Prepare and package boxes and bins for shipments and deliveries
  • Proactively prepare for the following day and/or week during down times
  • Communicate with the appropriate team members regarding roasting, production and delivery schedule
  • Occasionally meet customers who visit the roastery, provide information about the coffee and handle card transactions
  • Keep production area clean and organized
  • Other tasks as required and assigned by the Production Supervisor
Requirements, qualifications and physical demands:
  • Excellent attention to detail -- accurately packaging orders
  • Flexible, with the ability to multitask and work independently in a fast-paced environment
  • Team player who demonstrates willingness and ability to cooperate with co-workers
  • Energetic, self-motivated, and goal oriented individual
  • Punctual and dependable worker who maintains a clean and organized workspace
  • Strong customer service skills, and positive and professional attitude at all times
  • Good communication skills -- ability to follow directions and effectively communicate with the team
  • Ability to lift 50+ lbs
  • Must be legally allowed to work in Canada
  • Demonstrated interest/experience in coffee is a definite plus
