Job Description

Job Title: Project CoordinatorPrimary Location: Vancouver, BCJob Status: Full-Time, PermanentPrimex Investments Ltd. (Primex) is a BC-owned and operated real estate investment, development, and property management company located in Vancouver, BC. Founded in 1972, Primex provides rental accommodation to more than 2,500 families and individuals in Metro Vancouver, the Fraser Valley, Vancouver Island, and the Okanagan. Our in-house cross-functional teams include acquisitions, development, construction, marketing, leasing, and property management. With a myriad of buildings operating around the province, buildings in various stages of development, and 150+ staff province-wide, Primex is a leader in the development and operation of multi-family residential rental housing in BC.We are currently seeking an Project Coordinator to join the team at our Vancouver head office. Reporting to the Director of Development, this is a highly collaborative and cross-functional role that works closely with the Co-President, the Directors of Marketing and Property Management, internal project stakeholders, and external partners.This position plays a central role in ensuring the successful occupancy of new residential rental buildings, requiring strong coordination, scheduling, and communication across multiple departments.Key Responsibilities:Occupancyamp; Handover Coordination

  • Lead coordination efforts of all occupancy-related deliverables between the general contractor and internal departments
  • Coordinate and attend on-site unit inspections with the internal Construction team to confirm residential units are complete and ready for hand-over to the Property Management team.
  • Coordinate the approval and installation of wayfinding and code signage as designed and approved by Marketing and Property Management.
  • Track and manage turnover requirements, ensuring timely follow-up on outstanding deliverables.
  • Manage, maintain and improve internal occupancy trackers and checklists.
  • Attend site meetings as needed and report on deliverables and milestone dates based on observations and conversations.
  • Review project documentation to confirm that required materials and items have been ordered and prepared.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
  • Act as the key liaison between Development, Marketing, Property Management, and site staff leading up to and during building handover.
  • Lead weekly occupancy readiness meetings to review tasks, progress, and key milestones with internal stakeholders.
  • Proactively identify and escalate issues that may affect schedule, design, or occupancy timelines.
  • Ensure non-construction readiness elements such as signage, operational prep, resident communications are coordinated and completed.
Reportingamp; Communication
  • Provide weekly updates and prepare monthly progress reports for internal teams.
  • Communicate occupancy-related milestone achievements and scheduling updates to all relevant departments.
  • Schedule, attend, and document internal and external meetings, including preparing background materials and circulating minutes.
  • Draft or review internal and external communication related to occupancy, as needed.
What You Bring
  • A collaborative and proactive approach with the ability to lead coordination efforts across departments.
  • Excellent organizational and document-tracking skills, with strong proficiency in Excel.
  • A detail-oriented mindset and ability to manage multiple tasks under deadlines.
  • Ability to interpret architectural drawings and plans is an asset.
  • Excellent English communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Integrity, professionalism, and a self-starting attitude.
Educationamp; Experience
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in real estate development or construction.
  • Post-secondary education in development, construction, or project management.
