Apply today to join our team!As a Recruitment Associate with Vancouver Coastal Health you will:

• Support the hiring of internal and external staff, from the initial posting of positions and receiving, reviewing and prescreening of applications, to the hiring of successful applicants and completion of the applicant process.
• Provide guidance and advice to Managers and Directors regarding recruitment services, posting and recruitment requirements, collective agreement language, labour relations interpretation, and organizational hiring practices.
• Process various documents electronically for successful applicant hires and transfers, and determine salary placement in accordance with collective agreements and hiring practices. May assist with the writing and placement of advertisements of vacancies.
• Liaise with other staff and leaders in Recruitment, Labour Relations, Compensation and Classification, and other Employee Engagement departments regarding issues of a non-routine nature, and respond to inquiries from managers, employees and the public regarding the status of posted positions, employment opportunities, application procedures, salary and timekeeping issues and reference requests.
• Communicate with other organizations and agencies when conducting reference checks, verifying professional credentials and conducting criminal record checks.

QUALIFICATIONS:Education & Experience:

• Completion of a recognized diploma or degree in Human Resources Management or related field, supplemented by two (2) years’ recent, related experience in a large and complex organization, or a combination of education, training and experience.
• Skilled computer literacy with word processing, spreadsheet, graphics and database programs, e.g. MS Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Access and Visio is required.

Knowledge & Abilities:

• Knowledge of human resources practices and relevant collective agreements.
• Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing. Ability to relay technical information in a manner that can be understood by various audiences.
• Exhibits thoroughness when maintaining, monitoring, calculating and summarizing data, records and other information.
• Applies excellent time management skills to prioritize and complete assignments and schedule activities in a manner that optimizes departmental effectiveness and maintains customer relations.
• Proficiency in the use of computers and relevant software applications including online recruitment/human resource systems, and current office software.
• Demonstrated ability to deal with staff and public effectively.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently and as a member of a team.
• Physical ability to perform the duties of the position.
