REGIONAL GROUP FITNESS COORDINATOR Gold’s Gym LOCATION is hiring full time Group Fitness Coordinator, with potential to grow! Are you outgoing, enthusiastic, with a passion for fitness We would love to hear from you!Gold’s Gym BC is looking for an engaged, energetic and enthusiastic fitness coordinator to manage and support the group fitness program, GGX instructing team and group fitness member experience portfolio. Gold’s Gym is an iconic and busy fitness club who puts their members and the well-being of their clients and staff associates first. Gold’s Gym focuses on a well-rounded approach to fitness, health and wellness. As the fitness coordinator, you will oversee the group fitness program at 4 locations, manage the instructing team, be on the ground floor of creating new content, and help take the group fitness department to the next level. The ideal candidate possesses a passion for fitness, the motivational skills required to support the team, the talents to lead by example, the organization skills to complete tasks and the inspirational drive to help each GGX client live their best life.   • Review the facilities current classes and plan, develop, support and execute necessary changes following an RRR (regular, rapid, responsive) model
  • Conduct regular benchmarking and research to understand both the Gold’s Gym organization and the competitors program offerings
  • Manage all club fitness schedules – including preparation and implementation each terM
  • Interview, hire, train, and manage the instructing team
  • Evaluate staff on a bi-yearly basis or as needed
  • Maintain organizational transparency
  • Maintain all facility equipment – including request for repairs, safety standards, replacement and recommendations
  • Oversee the care of all stereo and microphone systems
  • Coordinate with the instructing team to ensure all certifications (fitness registration and first-aid/CPR) are up-to-date
  • Manage the instructing/departmental budgets and provide monthly reports
  • Track all class usage and report on a weekly basis
  • Develop procedural manuals for all sites, including class and instructing standards
  • Use networking skills to create strategic alliances and maximize class fill-rates
  • Work with the marketing team to support all GGX events and classes
  • Develop an instructing team portfolio and bio page for each club and website
  • Ensure the classes are correctly and regularly updated in the Gold’s Gym app
  • Teach fitness classes at each of the locations in order to be present and available to members, and build the GGX culture
  • Assisting in the coverage of and/or finding subs for all classes
  • Actively participate in special events
  • Research, plan, and manage 3-training education events plus one CPR/First Aid course per year
  • Assist with tracking classes and payroll
  • Provide regular department update reports every term, or as requested
  • Provide high level customer service at all times
  • Organize in-club events (eg. MOSSA launches, group fitness parties)
  • Participate in member appreciation events etc.
  • Work closely with the Director of Fitness and GM at each club to help promote the programs
  • Research the newest and latest trends in group fitness and to present innovative ideas and programs to implement.
  • Upskilling instructor on training skills as needed
  • Participate in daily social network posting to help build community online
Qualifications & Skills
  • Previous experience managing fitness, studio or rec departments (preferred)
  • Graduated with qualifications in a related-field
  • Registered group fitness leader and/or group trainer
  • Strong leadership skills, including the ability to manage conflict when necessary
  • Excellent time management skills, including the ability to multi-task
  • Detailed orientated and self-motivated
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, Excel, and fitness related software programs
  • Working knowledge of all fitness-related equipment and GGX related-equipment
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and vehicle, and willing to travel to sites
  • Committed to delivering exceptional customer service and promoting client loyalty
  • Collaborative, enjoys helping others and being part of a team
  • Current Emergency First Aid and CPR Level A Certificate
  • Current 2 million liability insurance
