Are you a Render and Data Wrangler interested in working with us in our Vancouver studio! The Render and Data Wrangler works within the Digital Resources team. They are responsible to assess the animation with the Lead, before its final output to film and video as well as for adding texture, lighting and depth to the original wireframe animation.Please note that this position includes variable shift work.What you'll get to do:Work with artists on the delivery of final rendered computer graphics elements for an animated feature filmWork with production to identify priorities and creative solutions to render concernsWhere appropriate, provide ideas to assist in developing and refining efficiency of Animation and Render pipelinesAct as point of contact for production to communicate render and data needsMonitor render queues and respond to identified errors/faults when requiredDiagnose rendering problems in conjunction with the artists and productionManage render farm resource allocations, including people and systemsEscalate render pipeline faults in a timely manner and ensure follow throughAnalyse and report system failures to System AdministrationEnsure team monitors critical systems in Zabbix/GrafanaWork with Systems Engineering Group to ensure optimal setup and performance of render farm, networks and storageProvide general technical support to other Technical Resources divisions as directedWork with production teams to construct and implement render and data clean up policiesFacilitate and monitor the global syncing of assets between sitesWork with the equivalent team in the other global site/sitesWhat you bring:Previous experience in an Animation/VFX studio is idealKnowledge of animation/VFX artist tool applications such as Maya, Python, NukeFamiliarity with most basic system artist tools and processesFamiliarity with networked/distributed computing conceptsFamiliarity with artist scripting languages (eg. Perl, Python)Strong client service and communication skillsAbility to multi-task, prioritize and problem solve with competing deadlinesAbility to work within a strong team environmentPrevious experience in a digital artist support position would be a bonusKnowledge of computer graphics or rendering experience is a bonusUniversity degree in animation/VFX is preferredInterest in computer animation and visual effects is an assetPlease apply if you are eligible to work in Canada.
