Job Description

You are an emerging leader with an outgoing personality and have a passion for hospitality that you are able to share with guests and team members alike. We balanced surfing with creating world-inspired food with the best possible ingredients. We have since grown and have added food trucks and locations across Vancouver Island and Vancouver.Our values come from where we started and we are committed to leading with those values and creating a workplace that makes people want to stay and grow.About the role: The right fit for this role is someone who has supervisory experience in the front of the house of a busy restaurant that has 10+ seats. You have experience in providing positive and inspiring leadership, giving support where needed, and contributing to an awesome restaurant atmosphere and positive workplace culture.What we offer:

You will be:
  • Championing an inclusive and positive workplace culture through values-based leadership, role-modelling the behaviours you expect in others, and identifying barriers in an effort to remove them
  • Developing a strong understanding of Tacofino, including its history, menu, and values and sharing it with your team
  • Providing support in onboarding, ongoing training and development, and increasing product knowledge within the team
  • Partnering with your team in increasing sales through high levels of hospitality, drink and food, developing relationships with regulars, and brainstorming ideas
  • Supporting location objectives and holding a strong sense of self-accountability in completing work tasks
looking for opportunities for community initiatives by partnering with local non-profits
  • Work toward efficiency and managing location costs, including food, beverage, and labour
  • Providing support with administrative tasks
  • Other duties as required
You have:
  • A minimum of 1-year experience in a front of house supervisory role is considered an asset
  • Passionate about hospitality and helping create great experiences through food and drink
  • Experience in applying values-based leadership and being a role model through your actions
  • Experience in supporting workplace inclusion by helping support a welcoming and positive team environment and actively identifying and removing barriers to individual success
  • Experience in delivering constructive feedback, having difficult but important conversations, and ensuring each individual is accountable for their role on the team
  • Experience in motivating, and developing people in achieving shared goals
  • Serving it right
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to resolve conflict
  • Ability to motivate and develop employees to achieve goals
  • Basic to intermediate experience with technology
  • Experience with MS Word, Excel
  • Experience with Optimum Control is considered an asset
  • Excellent time management skills
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule including opening, closing, weekends, and holidays
