Start Date: ImmediateLocation: 168 East Pender Street, Vancouver BCRole OverviewThis position will support the operations of the Vancouver Chinatown Foundation gift shop at the ChinatownStorytelling Centre Foo Hung Curios with various administration duties including data entry for the merchandiseand point of sale system, inventory control and sales support duties. We are seeking a self-starter who has a highdegree of attention to detail and is comfortable with the fast-paced nature of a small retail operations.Primary Responsibilities:Maintain merchandise system information – data input of vendor information, product information, SKUcreation and purchase order preparation.Assist with inventory monitoring – monitor unit sales by category and prepare replenishment orders based onsales.Provide in-store sales coverage – providing quality customer service, handle online shipping, shipmentreceiving and support of special eventsAssist with e-commerce site maintenance by uploading merchandise imagesThe ideal candidate will have the following qualifications:A passion for community building and creating long-term social changeMust be able to take directionExcellent communication skillsStrong organizational skills with a demonstrated ability to multitask and attention to detailTeam player with self initiative to get things doneBackground:The Vancouver Chinatown Foundation is a registered charity founded in 2011 to honour a culture and communityestablished in Vancouver over 100 years ago and is dedicated to building a more resilient and inclusive communityby promoting the wellbeing of those in need while preserving Chinatown’s irreplaceable cultural heritage.
