Company Summary: S&P Steel Products and Services, Inc. is part of a unique steel group (Villacero) offering a rare combination of products such as domestic pipe (Tex-Tube, Houston), pipe and flat rolled and from our Mexican mills Tuna and Zincacero (Monterrey, Mexico), and from other first class offshore mills out of UAE, KOREA, MEXICO etcS&P Steel Products and Services, Inc. serves as the marketing and distribution arm for Grupo Villacero offering the USA and Canadian markets with warehouses in Laredo, Tx, Rosarito, Baja California, and Atchison, Ks as well as a Sales office in Vancouver, BcPosition Summary: The successful candidate is a member of a company’s internal sales team, responsible for promoting and developing together with the VP, Sales of all LONG, FLAT ROLLED AND PIPE materials sold by our subsidiary S&P Steel Products LTD Canada, via btb trade and also by utilizing existing and developing new warehouse locations. This position requires an established book/history of business, and experience and knowledge working with distributors and end-users.Duties/Responsibilities: · Determine S&P Steel Product’s position in the marketplace and identify and define long term market strategies.· Continuously update market plan that ensures S&P Steel Products market share is increased. Growth Areas in focus but not limited to: EAST COAST CANADA - GREAT LAKES and WEST COAST CANADA, VANCOUVER REGION· Maintain a competitive edge through sales prices and discuss sales price changes with the Vice President· Review Product Line and Items/Sizes for distribution with Vice President and communicate any requirements.· Report all market intelligence information regarding competitor’s price, product, and facilities to the Vice President.· Maintain and grow long term customer relationships· Work with and notify the appropriate departments if any claims arise to ensure proper attention and service is given to the customer in a timely manner.· Represent the company attending industry meetings.· Work with freight companies to negotiate rates and expedite delivery to customer’s facilities.· Work within company procedures for risk management and travel guidelinesSupervisory Responsibilities: · To be decided based on positionRequired Skills/Abilities: · Knowledge of Canadian Custom requirements and procedures, while maintaining up to date information on products under AD/CVD/Normal Values plans· Must have basic skill level in Word and Excel programs.· Must be proficient with Microsoft Outlook.· Data entry experience and knowledge of SAP system is a plus.· Must be able to interact professionally with co-workers, supervisors, customers, and vendors.· Knowledge of flat rolled steel specifications and price formulas.· Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment and team worker.· Knowledge of incoterms will be a plus.· Required to travel and work out of town as needed.Education and Experience: · Bachelor’s degree in marketing, Sales, Business, or related field OR· two-years related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.What you can expect: · A group that has ‘In House’ supply options for certain PIPE, GALV and PPG Products out of the US and Mexico for long term growth potential· An international team.· National and international travel opportunities.· Flexible work location - however regular visits to Houston based headquarters required· A competitive salary and performance-based bonus.· Employment Benefits including 401k and excellent benefits.Physical DemandsThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
