The primary focus of this our Sales Representative is to sell all Macmillan Learning solutions across assigned accounts. The objectives of this position is to promote Macmillan Learning products as either required and/or suggested student textbooks, references, software, website, or study aids for any/all courses in which Macmillan products might be appropriate at each campus.*Responsibilities include but are not limited to: *

  • Achieve sales goal by maintaining existing business and winning new business
  • Identify, prioritize, track, and close sales opportunities in Salesforce.com
  • Drive strategy and key business decisions in your territory
  • Understand and fulfill customers’ needs
  • Offer unique, effective and sometimes complex solutions
  • Develop and maintain a high level of knowledge about Macmillan’s products and services
  • Effectively manage your time, territory, and resources to maximize sales results
  • Identify and act upon the economic and academic drivers that motivate customers
  • Challenge your customers’ assumptions and expectations providing valuable insight into the market
  • Be an active team player both on the sales team and throughout Macmillan to help meet company objectives
  • Interact with sales, marketing, editorial and provide market insight
  • Document daily sales activities in Salesforce.com, manage your sales pipeline, and perform other tasks necessary to drive sales revenue and to communicate activities to sales management
  • Travel within your territory and to two annual company meetings
Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s Degree required
  • Sales professionals with at least 2 years’ experience in outside sales
  • Must be legally entitled to work in Canada or obtain work authorization
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Documented success achieving and exceeding assigned sales goals
  • Offers a unique perspective on the sales process to their customers
  • Proficient in the g-suite, CRMs, and LMSs
  • Drives two-way communication with colleagues both internal and external
  • Can uncover customer needs and provide innovative solutions
  • Can work remotely and independently, while still being a part of our team
  • Competitive and creative problem-solver
  • Comfortable pushing back on their customers when appropriate
  • Assertive, high-energy, tenacious
  • Technological savvy, and is highly proficient in navigating and demonstrating complex online products
