Their Head Office is located in Surrey, B.C., the parent company manages five logging and forestry divisions in B.C. With revenues over $100 million, Mill and Timber is steadily growing, their production is delivered to markets in North America, Asia, Australia and Europe.The Role of the "Shipper" is a critical position supporting Mill and Timbers high value WRC Division. Reporting directly to the Sales Manager of WRC, the "Shipper" will serve as a liaison between the Sales and Production teams. Working within a positive team environment, the chosen candidate will carry out day-to-day actions to execute on shipments, inventory flow and production input. The highly organized candidate will help developer and maintain efficient systems and processes that facilitate effective shipping practices.This role is to work at the office from their Surrey, B.C. Head Quarters.RESPONSIBILITIESProduction:

  • Assist manufacturing group with entry of Custom Cut production into Mill and Timber ERP system
  • Generate "Mill to Mill" (MTM) transfer orders for movement of inventory at various custom cut sites
  • Ensure that MTM transfers are directed to appropriate value-add processing facilities
  • Facilitate log consumption entry, entering of costs and posting final production runs
  • Support data entry for value-added re-manufacturing with inbound and outbound volumes into ERP system
  • Update and create new product ID codes in the system for unique Mill and Timber products
  • Reconcile and correct inventory discrepancies
Shipping & Order Fulfillment:
  • Develop robust process for WRC order file fulfillment; daily tracking open doors supported by an organized system for actioning monthly shipments
  • Maintain regular communication with the production coordinators to align order file with monthly processing schedules
  • Identify inventory required for order fulfillment and ensure MTM transfers are in place at appropriate fulfillment locations
  • Work directly with reload partners for rail car shipments; shipping memos, booking of transfer trucks, create border documentation for US reloads
  • Responsible for generating invoices for all modes of shipment and border docs for US bound shipments
  • Communicate with sales representatives when truck load orders are ready for shipment Shipper, WRC
  • Work closely with fulfillment locations to facilitate truck loading provide sales orders and liaise with carriers to confirm pick up dates
  • Create releases for "Customer Pick-Ups" (CPU) and notify sales when CPUs are ready
  • Support export sales representative with summary of order booking notes, tally detail and secure MTM trucks for port fulfillment
  • When required, generate credit notes for all WRC requests
  • Approval of freight invoices for all inventory movement; MTMs rail & truck shipments
  • Provide updated freight rates for sales representatives and management
Requirements
  • Post-Secondary education an asset but not required
  • Previous experience in the Forest Industry is valuable
  • Min 5 years of experience in a key shipping role
  • Prior experience with Lumbertrack software and added benefit
  • Innovative, with a continuous improvement mindset
  • Excellent internal and external relationship building skills
  • Self-starter that can proactively manage daily responsibilities
  • Highly organized individual proficient with the MS Office suite
  • Comfortable with email and phone call communication with both internal and external stakeholders
  • Motivated to learn and seek out creative solutions to challenging problems
  • Team player who enjoys being part of a dynamic business environment
BenefitsThis is a full time position with a salary range from $50,000 to $60,000.
