Skilled Labourer - Career OpportunityFor the past 3 years, Fairview Builders Services has built a reputation for excellence in pre-construction, construction management, and general contracting services for commercial, school district, and BC housing projects. Our collaborative and support-based culture is also structured to provide leadership and guidance for the next generation by building long-term relationships and mentorships.We are looking for a Skilled Laborer that is interested in taking on a variety of construction work. This role offers the opportunity to learn and grow with our team while working on a variety of different projects.Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Core Values

  • Contribute as a member of the Klondike Team utilizing our values of safety, teamwork, trust, accountability, continuous learning, and high performance
  • Promote and maintain good working relationships and collaboration with peers, clients, consultants, and suppliers
  • Ensure safety is a priority that is managed in every project
General Labourer
  • Clean and prepare construction sites as needed
  • Maintain a safe and clean job site by handling materials and storing them properly, picking up and removing all tools and equipment when not in use
  • Load and unload construction supplies from trucks manually or using equipment
  • Demolition
  • Minor carpentry
  • Safely run a jackhammer, coring machine, and other construction equipment as requested
  • Use knowledge of rigging and rigging signals
  • Erecting scaffolding
  • Spreading gravel
  • Providing assistance with heavy machinery
  • Other duties, as required
Skills and Abilities Required
  • Ability to work full shifts from 7:30-4:00, 5 days a week, and weekends occasionally
  • First aid, confined space, and fall protection training are strong assets (training provided)
  • Physically able to safely and repetitively lift and carry at least 50 pounds on a regular basis and stand/walk for long periods of time
  • Detail oriented, proactive, and a self-starter
  • Open to learning from peers, trades, and our Site Superintendent
  • Ability to work independently and without supervision
  • Ability to work in different weather and terrains
  • Must have your own transportation with the ability to work multiple worksites in the lower mainland
  • Must have full PPE: Steel toe boots, hard hat, etc.
