  • As a Solution Architect, it’s your job to ascertain that envisaged solutions become reality.
  • You #39;re equally comfortable in deep-dive technical workshops and in board-level sales presentations.
  • You have the ability to find the scope in large-scale, complex projects.
  • You are the vital mainstay for the development team during the implementation processes. To customers and partners, you are the expert liaison with a keen sense of their needs.
  • You have experience with leading development teams.
  • You #39;re comfortable talking highly specific technical details and discussing general business outcomes with the ability to translate customer requirements into a distinguished design.
  • You dedicate yourself to security, deployment, performance, caching, sizing, scalability, and serviceability.
  • You know our projects will be delivered according to briefing, time, and budget, but you also know our technicians need their space to build the solutions you’ve defined.
  • Experience with creating technical architecture documentation, working with the QA lead to define the test strategy, leading DevOps to define and implement CI/CD pipelines, and ensuring that implementations meet non-functional requirements.
  • You are able to travel a significant amount of the time, spending time on-site during the inception phase and when providing training and workshops.
Must-Have Qualifications:
  • Strong knowledge of the Java platform.
  • Experience with creating solutions for financial services (especially banking).
  • Experience with Spring, Maven, and Jenkins;
  • A strong demonstrable understanding of Service Oriented Architecture (SOA), as well as Micro-Services Architecture.
  • Solid experience with JavaScript frameworks, MVC patterns, and principles of REST APIs, ideally including RAML and/or OpenAPI.
  • Strong knowledge of architectural frameworks best practices.
  • Professional experience with Enterprise Integration Patterns and Frameworks.
  • Broad operational knowledge of application servers, databases, load balancers, and other infrastructure components required to deploy web applications in a highly available and scalable environment.
  • Excellent written and oral communication and presentation skills.
Nice to Haves:
  • Experience working with the Backbase platform.
  • Experience with Portal/Web Content Management.
  • Familiarity with architectural patterns, such as Microservices, CQRS, and event sourcing.
  • Experience with server virtualization and container technology such as Docker, VMWare, HyperV.
  • Professional experience with Integration Platforms, API Gateway, etc.
LocationThis is a 100% full-time remote position, however, candidates based outside of Canada will be required to work for the company as independent contractors. CompensationThe salary range for this position is CAD $90K-$150K annually (or the equivalent hourly rate for candidates outside of Canada, who will be working as Contractors).
