Overview:WildBrain is looking for Storyboard Artists to join our team!In this role, you’ll be collaborating with the Director and Storyboard department to conceptualize the story and create the visual blueprint for the entire production. This is your chance to set the scene for one of our brand new productions!These roles are set to begin in Spring 2021.We are currently working virtually because of the Covid-19 pandemic. During this time our hiring teams are ready to support interviews via video conferencing, and we are enabling artists to work from home until the studio can reopen. We’d love to hear from you! #stayhomestaysafe!Responsibilities:Collaborating with the Director and Storyboard team to create high-quality, dynamic storyboard panelsStudying scripts to determine artistic interpretation and design boards in conjunction with the Supervising Director/ProducerMaintaining awareness of the show’s continuity, and ensuring the style and quality of the production is consistently met in board workCommunicating progress or issues with Directors, Storyboard Supervisor and Production to ensure all deadlines are metConsulting with Director to approve the final storyboard panels and making revisions as neededCommunicating ideas effectively and recommending solutions to help interpret the script visuallyMentoring and supporting other Storyboard Artists and RevisionistsMaximizing the re-use of assets with minor changes when the production schedule calls for itAssisting with and completing production-related assignmentsKeeping current on storyboarding techniques and technologyQualifications:You have 2 or more years’ experience as a Storyboard Artist on an animated seriesYou have a Degree/Diploma from a recognized animation schoolYou are familiar with and have experience with 3D Animation pipelinesYou are known for both your drawing skills and your sense of humour!Ability to organize and manage time effectively to meet deadlinesAbility to communicate in a professional and positive mannerStrong drawing skills and sense of design, character and compositionStrong sense of acting and timingCreative problem solving skillsAbility to work digitally (Cintiq with Sketchbook, Photoshop or Flash, etc.)Why WildBrainAt WildBrain Studios our teams dig into a diverse range of projects – from preschool and comedy to action-adventure, and work with international partners such as Apple, Netflix, LEGO, DreamWorks, BBC, Cartoon Network, Nickelodeon and more.
