Job Description

Unless specified below as an in-office/in-person position, this is a remote opportunity. All remote positions require applicants to have a reliable internet connection. It is our policy to maintain vaccinated offices for those working out of our physical work locations.DescriptionInterested in joining our IT Support team in our Vancouver office You will be exposed to a variety of technologies for one of the worlds leading visual effects studios. You will work out of our BC location and also interface with our New York and Los Angeles studio at times. This is a full-time position during studio hours (9 a.m to 6 p.m).This is a contract to staff position. This is an in-office position and is not eligible for remote work at this time.Requirements:

  • Relevant technical skills and experience in configuring and supporting users in a Windows environment. OSX and Linux (Centos) experience a plus.
  • Solid understanding of PC, Server, and Network hardwaresoftware with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues effectively.
  • Experience with the administration of Active Directory Users and Objects
  • Experience with imaging technologies such as FOG, MDT, etc. and deployment systems (LanDesk, PDQ, etc.)
  • Exposure to software used in the VFX industry (Maya, Houdini, Nuke, Substance Painter, etc.) is a plus
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills (verbal and written)
  • Excellent troubleshooting and organizational skills with the ability to "think on your feet" to come up with creative ideas and solutions to technical problems
  • A passion and willingness to learn new skills, techniques and technologies
  • Have a positive, can-do attitude and work well with others
  • Effectively communicate with people with varying levels of technical knowledge
  • Be able to work autonomously and as part of a larger team
  • A keen focus on attention to detail and customer service
  • Ability to deal with an unpredictable workload. Must be able to adapt to a fast-paced, high-pressure environment with fluid requirements and deadlines
  • Ability to work under pressure
Responsibilities:
  • Operate as a first responder to provide technical support and resolution or escalate issues appropriately to Development and IT
  • Assist Development and IT teams in the planning, implementation, maintenance, support, and relocation of studio infrastructure (software + hardware, including workstations, servers, laptops, storage systems, network devices, backups, audiovideo equipment, peripherals, setting up desks for new artists, etc.)
  • Ensure the reliable and efficient handling of studio assets and data
  • Generate and maintain both internal and end-user documentation
