We also work with our employees to develop our identified core competencies at all levels of the organization.Position Description:Under the direction of the IT Director, the Systems Support Technician fulfills the day to day requirements of the IT functions at Science World. Routine duties in this entry level position include providing user, desktop, and network support; deploying new systems, researching new technology and supporting the IT Team; providing server and systems administration, installation and troubleshooting; maintaining systems documentation; performing IP telephony administration; and providing a mix of on-premise and cloud identity, file, mail and collaboration tools operations.Key Responsibilities:Support, monitor, test, and troubleshoot the corporate Windows, Office, database, and email environment. User account maintenance using Active Directory, Office 365, line of business applications and PBX/voicemailInstall, configure, and support hardware and software. Perform necessary upgrades, patches, security updates, and service packs. Hardware troubleshooting including desktops, laptops, tablets, and mobile devicesTroubleshooting of business applications and building technologies such as point of sale retail/ticketing systems, audio visual systems, digital signage, dome lights, and security CCTVProvide training and excellent end-user support for desktop, mobile, application and cloud applicationsAdminister telephony infrastructure including devices and voicemail in Cisco Unity and Call ManagerPrepare documentation for system inventory control, configuration and procedures including the Atlassian Confluence siteAssist in the administration of the virtualized and physical network environment. Including systems and core network components such as servers, printer/copiers, switches, routers, WiFi, and firewalls. Ensure ongoing systems integrity and security related to protecting network access, email, internet, remote VPN, and telecommunications (voice and data) servicesAssist in the maintenance of the corporate storage SAN solutions. Perform and manage corporate backups and recovery systemsCommunicate effectively and efficiently with staff across the organizationOther IT services and related duties, as requiredQualifications:Completion of a 2-year Computer Information Systems Diploma program or equivalent experience. Microsoft, Cisco, and/or VMWare certifications are highly desirableA minimum of 3 years experience in an office IT systems administration and user support roleStrong command of Windows Desktops (Windows 10), Windows Server 2016, Active Directory, Exchange 2016 mailbox management, Microsoft Office, Office 365 ApplicationsWorking knowledge of networking, servers, desktops and software including line of business applications and their role in the organization such as Accounting, Ticketing/POS, CRM and Fundraising softwareExperience with IT infrastructure technologies such as virtualization (VMWare), servers (Dell), storage SANs, and backup solutions would be an assetFamiliarity with Cisco networking hardware and TCPIP, Ethernet, Vlan, QoS, PoE, VoIP and WirelessFamiliarity with Amazon AWS services including Eslatic Beanstalk, RDS, Elastic File Systems to provide reliable web hostingExcellent communications (written and verbal) and customer service skillsExceptional dependability, reliability and flexibility with strong problem-solving skillsMust be available for occasional after hours on-call or on-site support during peak season, events, systems maintenance, and/or emergenciesPlease apply by Wednesday, July 21, 2021Please upload a cover letter and a copy of your resume as part of your application
