Bring your unique strengths, perspectives and experiences to the port authority and join us in charting a course toward a sustainable future.The Talent Research & Search Associate is responsible for providing support to the Talent Acquisition team on talent scouting and research activities, full-cycle recruitment duties of the department, as well as being responsible for recruiting for administrative, clerical, student and temp pool positions.In this role, the successful candidate will:Talent Acquisition Support

  • Research companies to develop target lists for talent scouting activities
  • Identify potential talents from a variety of online and proprietary tools
  • Develop executive level search reports for talent mappings and long list presentation
  • Support the Talent Acquisition team with initial talent outreach and selection
  • Actively participate in designing the search strategy with the Talent Acquisition team; pro-active involvement as a valued team contributor throughout the search process from initial pitch to candidate development
  • Provide research in support of candidate identification and global scouting activities for the organization. Develop appropriate candidate “target” lists for collaboration with Talent Acquisition Advisors using the phone, print materials and a wide range of online information resources
  • Attend and/or listen in on kick-off meetings, suggest possible targets, and attend stakeholder briefings/meetings when possible; attend or listen in on all applicable group and meetings/calls
  • Develop a full understanding of the search and the research needs of internal clients. Develop confidence and trust of both internal stakeholders and external talents
  • Consistently input and update highly confidential candidate records
Recruiting
  • Assist the department with full-cycle recruitment activities including: reviewing resumes, drafting job descriptions for review, posting and advertising vacancies, reviewing resumes, conducting interviews and tests, checking references and other general support
  • Make initial contact with candidates and conduct phone-screens, assessing candidates against company core values, and scheduling interviews with hiring managers and internal teams
  • Provide effective feedback and communication to candidates throughout the recruiting process.
  • Prepare offers of employment
  • Assist with maintaining the HR applicant tracking system and recruitment monitor
  • Recruit for administrative, student and temp pool positions
Specific CompetenciesMust be a self-motivated individual with excellent organizational skills, ability to prioritize, and flexibility to perform multiple tasks is required. Strong customer service orientation and ability to work effectively with a diverse workforce and across multiple organizational levels. Must possess strong verbal and written communication skills, and the ability to deliver impactful, informative, effective presentations. Must have good judgment and be able to safeguard confidential information is essential. Proven ability to work in a fast-paced environment with constantly changing priorities. Ability to work collaboratively within a dynamic, action-oriented team. Ability to engage others professionally and diplomatically on sensitive issues.Education & Experience
  • A certificate in human resource management or a related discipline, or a combination of education, training, and experience deemed equivalent
  • Minimum two years relevant experience in the field of human resources/talent acquisition
  • Detail oriented approach with project management skills and experience
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to work in a high volume, dynamic environment and respond to changing business needs
  • Strong sense of urgency with the ability to deliver results in a timely manner
  • Understanding of collective agreements and employment terms
  • Proven ability to use data and analytics to plan and execute professional-level candidate searches
