The role is critical to drive the accuracy and timeliness of the STEMCELL group of companies tax filings and is key to identifying and managing tax risks, optimizing tax processes and maximizing tax benefits, including preparing and reviewing working papers to support Scientific Research and Experimental Development tax incentive claims.The Tax Manager will be managing the short-term and long-term International, Canadian and US tax projects. The role is responsible for ensuring timely and accurate global tax compliance, monitoring transfer pricing risk and ensuring compliance, and identifying and implementing domestic and international tax planning opportunities. You would also be preparing tax provision working papers to support the financial reporting function, serving as a tax technical resource to all members of the business, resolving tax audits from Canadian and US tax authorities, and managing relationships with key financial service providers as required to support the taxation function.Job DescriptionDuties and Responsibilities

  • Manage external and regulatory audits and examinations as required and ensure robust audit documentation is available
  • Evaluate opportunities for operational improvements and implement changes to drive efficiency and automation
  • Review US and Canadian indirect sales tax filings and payments and lead global tax planning and process improvement initiatives
Knowledge and Qualifications
  • Bachelors degree with 10+ years of relevant experience and the professional designation of CPA or Chartered Accountant
  • Completion of CPA In-Depth Taxation Course or LLM (Tax)
  • Ability to build positive relationships with partners at all levels within the organization and communicate the benefit of tax initiative
