Are you organized, able to work independently, and looking for an opportunity to join an excellent team Purdys Chocolatier is looking for a Truck Driver Back Up and General Help to join our efficient Warehouse Team at our Chocolate Factory in Vancouver, BC! Duties include but are not limited to: Works in accordance with the warehouse schedules and specifications Loads and unloads trucks Delivers product and supplies to all our lower mainland shop locations Shuttles to and from Chester and Kingsway as well as delivery stops in the Greater Vancouver area Complies with all safety policies, accident prevention and compliance programs, reviews work areas for potential issues that result in losses and reports injuries and hazards Performs all warehouse duties including, but not limited to packing, cleaning, organizing, shipping and receiving product and supplies to retail shops, manufacturing and office support, inventory control Reports to and is supported by Warehouse Supervisor General duties as required.Other duties may be added or deleted as necessary All applicants MUST have: Must hold a Class 5 driver’s license with Airbrake or better Must be able to drive a 5 ton truck High school graduate education level Availability for ALL 3 types of shifts - Days, Afternoons, & Evenings Availability for a full time workweek, 40 hrs/week Ability to communicate effectively in spoken and written English Ability to endure continuous repetitive motion Previous or current fork lift certification Has a clean driving record Has excellent organizational skills Can create neat accurate and legible reports Ability to enter data into the computer/WMS System Maintains a professional image and well-groomed appearance **Forklift Certification, Shipping/Receiving Knowledge, Driver experience would be an asset** **As this is a unionized work environment – union membership is mandatory upon hire. **For the safety of our employees, steel toe boots are also a requirement. Pay: When not working as a Truck Driver, you would be working as General Help in any production department, most often in the warehouse. Truck Driver: $23.39/hr General Help: starts at $16.15/hr and increases every 2080 hours until full rate.Purdys Chocolatier recognizes the value of skills and knowledge gained outside of formal education and paid employment.
