Job DescriptionTitle: Inventory team memberReports to: Store Owner, Store ManagerGrade/Zone: TBDNOC Code: 7452Job descriptionOur Company: The Soap Dispensary and Kitchen Staples opened in 2011 to tackle the issue of packaging waste and helped usher in the consumer Zero Waste movement in Vancouver. As a refill shop and specialty grocer, we offer about 800 bulk products to help our community divert waste and save resources. We partner with many local businesses, contribute to the local circular economy and inspire many individuals and businesses to reduce their environmental footprint. Our success is measured in our day-to-day, in each container refilled and our team has a direct impact on these successes.Job Summary: We are looking for a Weekend Inventory staff member to join our team! The primary goal of this role is to assist with inventory-related tasks for our shop. This includes refilling our bulk dispensers, keeping our retail shelves well stocked, receiving incoming shipments, packaging bulk products, handling and properly storing bulk and packaged inventory, and maintaining a clean and organized stockroom.Our ideal candidate is a detail-oriented, meticulous self starter who enjoys organizing and task-oriented work.Must be available to work both Saturdays and Sundays.As a BIPOC owned business, we are committed to diversity, equity, and inclusion.Main Duties & Responsibilities: General Inventory:

  • Refill and maintain fully stocked bulk containers
  • Restock and merchandize retail shelves
  • Physically check, receive and redistribute incoming deliveries from suppliers and our warehouse according to company procedures and policies
  • Support retail staff with customer requests or inquiries
  • Be available on the retail floor to provide direct customer service and support to the retail team during busy times
  • Prepare products for stocking on retail shelves by assembling parts, removing tags and stickers, etc
  • Weigh, package and label bulk products as needed
  • Redistribute and decant products from and to various size containers
  • Mix and scent products according to company recipes and requirements
  • Organize inventory in the stockroom
  • Maintain a clean and organized workplace, storage area and auxiliary storage space at all times.
  • May include washing and cleaning duties as needed
  • Follow worksafe practices

  • 8 hour shift
