Job Description

Job DescriptionReporting to the Manager, Youth Education Programs, the Youth Education Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the Grade 7 Youth Education Programs, which supports participants as they transition from elementary to high school. The role includes research, developing community contacts, program evaluation, volunteer management, data management, and other key administrative duties. This role requires excellent organization and attention to detail.Responsibilities:

  • Working closely with the Program Manager and other Youth Education Supervisor to ensure project-based goals, objectives, and timelines are met
  • Supervising/overseeing the program’s administrative systems including:
  • Supervising the Youth Education Programs through volunteer intake, collection and management of program data, and data analysis
  • Coordination of the delivery of programs within schools, including promotion and participant recruitment
  • Overseeing evaluation of the youth programs through debrief sessions, focus groups, and analyzing post-program surveys
  • Coordinating office administrative support, including preparation of program and training materials, participant registration, and application processing
  • Budget monitoring, purchasing, and expense tracking
  • Supervising program assistants, practicum students, and volunteers
  • Assisting fund development through the provision of research, program data, and other grant support
  • Assisting in the preparation and delivery of the volunteer training program
  • Oversees volunteer screening, intake, placement, and communication
  • Building and maintaining key relationships with schools, community partners, and other program stakeholders
  • Travel throughout Vancouver and Surrey is required
Qualifications:
  • University degree in social work, youth work, psychology, education, business administration or relevant field
  • Knowledge of and experience with the YWCA’s Youth Education Programs is an asset
  • Organized, self-driven, ability to multi-task, manage competing priorities and strong leadership skills
  • Strong data management and office administration skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook and other Office 365 applications) and Google applications
  • Experience working with and facilitating groups of youth and volunteers
  • Mentorship and/or youth work experience an asset
  • Experience in community program settings
  • Strong communication skills including tact and diplomacy
  • Ability to work in a team environment
  • Valid BC driver’s license and clean driving record required; having access to a vehicle is an asset, but not required
  • Able to work a flexible schedule when needed
  • The successful candidate will be required to do a criminal record check
