Job Description

On behalf of a Tier-1 EPC power contractor, we are recruiting an Electrical Engineer to deliver 12 kV – 230 kV distribution and substation projects across Metro Vancouver and the BC Interior. You’ll take projects from single-line concept through energization, coordinating civil, protection-and-control, and utility-interconnect scopes for transit, data-centre, and renewable-tie-in clients.✅ Key Responsibilities

• Develop single-line diagrams, load and fault-level studies, arc-flashamp; coordination studies (ETAP / SKM).
• Produce 3-D substation and duct-bank layouts in Revit / AutoCAD Electrical; specify switchgear, breakers, relays, CTs/VTs to CSAamp; BC Hydro standards.
• Lead groundingamp; lightning-protection design, cable-sizing, and thermal-rating calculations.
• Prepare IFC drawing packages, equipment RFQs, and construction-phase RFI responses.
• Liaise with BC Hydroamp; FortisBC for interconnection studies, protection settings, and outage planning.
• Conduct FAT, SAT, and energization support; sign off field red-line markups for as-built.
• Mentor EITs; support project managers on schedule, risk, and client presentations.

Requirements

• P.Eng. (British Columbia) in Electrical Engineering (or APEG BC eligibility).
• 6 + years MV/HV distribution, substation, or industrial power-systems design.
• Working knowledge of IEEE Std 80, CSA C22.3, and BC Hydro distribution standards.
• Proficient in ETAP / SKM, AutoCAD Electrical, or Revit MEP; relay-coordination experience (SEL / GE Multilin) an asset.
• Valid driver’s licence; occasional travel to interioramp; coastal project sites.
