TEACHING VACANCY: POSTING NO. 86 – SEPTEMBER 14, 2022School: NECHAKO VALLEY SECONDARY SCHOOL – VANDERHOOF, BCStart Date: September 21, 2022Assignment: 1.0 CONTINUING SPECIALIST POSITIONCASE MANAGEMENTSPECIFIC ASSIGNMENT TO BE DETERMINED BY THE PRINCIPALQualifications :possesses or is eligible for a BC Teaching Certificatecompletion of 3rd and 4th year level university course work necessary for teaching the senior level curricula that are part of this assignmenttraining and recent successful experience teaching both literacy and numeracy knowledge and skills in a variety of curriculum areas at the secondary grade levelsability to work with at risk students with social/emotional challenges as well as with students with special vocational/academic needsability to work with staff in developing functional, practical IEPs for students involving integration, where feasible, into mainstream programsability to successfully liaise with parents, care-givers, agencies, the community and staff membersability to work collaboratively with other members of the Inclusive Education Departmentdemonstrated ability to develop and maintain a positive classroom learning environment that engages students in active learning experiencesexperience in differentiating instruction to create success in learning for each studentexperience in integrating appropriate technologies into instructional practices in order to improve learning outcomes for studentsProfessional dispositions are defined here as the values, commitments and professional ethics that influence an educator’s approach to their work.
