Let us take this opportunity to tell you how you could be the best fit for Canfor.The Opportunity:Canfor is currently looking for a strong technical leader, who is looking for an opportunity to join our team as a Quality Control Process Supervisor.The Role:Reporting to the Superintendent in Training, you will be working to maximize profit and product quality by optimizing production and grade standards to meet current market demands and customer requirements. This role will give you exposure to all of the different part of our operations, including the log yard, planer, sawmill and kilns! You will be responsible for driving and owning the quality of the lumber going to the customer, so being self-driven, self-motivated and a problem solver is a must.Key Responsibilities:Assist in developing and achieving targets in safety, quality, cost, delivery and employee engagementProvide leadership in safety, quality, cost, delivery and employee engagementWork closely with other supervisors to ensure safety, quality and production standards are understood and achievedDevelop and improve management systems that optimize production and grade outturnSupervision of quality control processes in the Planer as requiredEnsure the regular monitoring and tracking of machine center performancePerform regular grade checks to improve grade accuracy and outturnHave knowledge or be prepared to obtain knowledge of MSR process with expectation to fulfill role of MSR supervisorThe Candidate:A strong commitment to safetyHigh mechanical aptitude would be considered an assetExcellent interpersonal, analytical and problem solving skillsStrong computer skillsCandidates who have completed the Industrial Wood Processing, Associates Certificate will be highly consideredAt Canfor, diversity means understanding, recognizing and valuing the differences that make each person unique.
