Job Description

QA/QC CoordinatorLocation: Various LocationsRotation: Various RotationsDepartment: OperationsGeneral Purpose of this Job:The Construction QA/QC Coordinator sets up and maintains the QA/QC program for the site construction.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develop ITP plans for any contractor work. If the work is done by a sub-contractor, review and advise on the submitted ITP plan.
  • Work with the appropriate discipline superintendent to ensure QC is being performed and plan inspections as appropriate.
  • Coordinate TSSA piping inspections with TSSA inspector.
  • Ensure full understanding and compliance with company policies and work in accordance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act and other local regulatory requirements.
  • Read, understand, and implement the drawing checking processes described in the Cementation Engineering Procedures Manual.
  • Conduct constructability reviews from a fabrication, assembly, and in-service perspective.
  • Check and sign-off design drawings and specifications.
  • In coordination with the Engineer of Record, confirm project equipment, fabrication, and on-site construction quality requirements.
  • Troubleshoot site concerns/issues and make recommendations.
  • Review QA-QC/NDE/Material test reports.
  • Generate reports for all QA related activities.
  • Fully supports and actively participates in the team safety program based on culture and innovation.
  • Ensure applicable procedures and work standards for all tasks are understood, adhered to, and always complied with.
  • Utilize all safety systems as specified within the site safety management system.
  • Other such duties as may be assigned.
Skills, Knowledgeamp; Abilities:
  • Experience with TSSA piping would be considered an asset.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Able to effectively prioritize workload to ensure deadlines are met.
  • Excellent problem solving and analytical skills.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
  • Proficient with AutoCAD.
  • Fall Arrest.
Pre-Employment Qualifications:
  • Pass pre-employment drug, alcohol, and medical testing.
  • Criminal Record Check (if applicable).
  • Full Basic Underground Common Core.
  • Secondary School Diploma.
  • Applicable Post-Secondary Technician or Technology Diploma.
  • Engineering Degree considered an asset.
  • Minimum combined 5 years in Fabrication, Mining, Heavy Construction, Quality Assuranceamp; Quality Control.
  • OACETT Registration considered an asset.
  • Journeyman Certification (Ironworker/Steelworker) and/or CWB Inspection Certifications are considered assets.
