Overview:Starting at $23.50 / hour This is a seasonal position March 2024-September 02, 2024Candidates Must be 18+ years of age. Candidates must have open availability with shift start time of 6 am.   • Operate a Zero Turn ride-on rotary mower.
  • Maintain turf using a walk behind mower, backpack blower and line trimmer.
  • Assist with seeding, sodding, fertilizing, aerating, topdressing, and irrigating as needed.
  • Assist with providing direction to Turf Technicians.
  • Operate machinery to assist in the implementation of other property maintenance programs, including site cleanup (litter control, pavement washdown, pressure washing and waste handling and recovery) and vehicle/equipment maintenance (cleaning, sanding, hand painting).

Qualifications:
  • You!
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in the operation and routine preventive maintenance of various types of commercial turf equipment in a commercial, municipal or golf course setting.
  • Previous experience with the operation of a Zero Turn mower.
  • Familiarity with the Occupational Health and Safety Act.
  • CCHT (Canadian Certified Horticultural Technician)-Landscape Maintenance designation (an asset).
  • A valid Ontario Driver’s License (class G/G2) with a clean abstract.
  • Individuals who can provide their own CSA approved safety footwear.
  • Availability to work 6:00am to 2:30pm during the spring and fall, 6:00am-3:30pm during full time operating season (Friday shifts are from 6:00am-10:00am) with occasional overtime and weekends.
