Job Description

North Okanagan Hospice Society (NOHS) operates a 12-bed palliative care facility in Vernon, B.C. and is a contracted partner with the Interior Health Authority. NOHS was incorporated in 1984 as a charitable organization with the purpose of supporting those with a palliative diagnosis, their loved ones and the bereaved.NOHS is committed to supporting our health care staff, volunteers, residents and their families by ensuring COVID-19 protocols are followed.A new Facility Assistant Student position will be responsible for ensuring that the COVID-19 protocols are followed as they apply to family visitation. This includes assisting with and administering rapid Point of Care COVID testing for all visitors entering Hospice House and collecting and reporting data.We can offer flexible, part time hours where the position will be responsible for supporting care staff on a variety of shifts. The wage is $18 per hour plus 4% vacation pay and we are seeking a candidate to start by January 7, 2022.This is a great opportunity for nursing or health care assistant students to experience a specialty clinical environment, practice communication and infection control skills.
