Job Description

A dynamic and expanding law firm in Vernon, BC, is seeking an organized and experienced Office Administrator and Bookkeeper to join its senior management team. Reporting directly to the Partners, this role involves oversight of bookkeeping, office management, human resources, and marketing functions. The ideal candidate will bring prior management experience, ideally within a law firm setting.Key ResponsibilitiesBookkeeping Duties

  • Full-cycle bookkeeping, including Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, and Payroll for a team of 20-30 employees
  • Trust accounting and reconciliation of bank and Visa accounts
  • Preparation for Year-End Financials
Office Administration and Management
  • Oversee office lease agreements, maintenance, IT coordination (with external provider), and supply orders
  • Manage office policies, procedures manual, and employee performance reviews
  • Develop and implement morale-boosting programs
Human Resources
  • Handle hiring and onboarding processes, maintaining a positive office culture
  • Oversee policy development and support employee relations
Marketing Support
  • Assist in implementing an annual marketing plan and supporting practice group marketing initiatives
QualificationsRequired
  • Post-secondary education in Accounting (diploma or bachelor’s degree)
  • Strong experience in full-cycle bookkeeping, including bank and Visa reconciliations
  • Experience with payroll processing and Year-End Financials
  • Advanced data entry and technology skills
Preferred
  • Experience in Trust Accounting
  • Proficiency with QuickBooks Online
  • Managerial or HR experience or education
  • Background in office administration
Compensation and Benefits
  • Annual Salary: $55,000 - $65,000
  • Additional Bonus Pay Opportunities

  • Expected Hours: 35 hours per week, Monday to Friday
