Job Description

Commissionaires BC is currently hiring for a overnight weekend security guard for a site in Vernon, BC.Shifts available: Saturday and Sunday 12.30am to 8.30amPayrate: $22 per hourYour Must-Haves:

  • Live in Vernon or surrounding areas in order to reliably get to the site
  • A valid BC security license
  • OFA Level 1
  • 1-2 years working in security
  • You have excellent verbal and written English communication skills
  • You have proven time-management and organizational skills
  • Work with and respect the diverse residents of the building, supporting and guiding where needed
Your nice to haves:
  • Non Violent Crisis Intervention training
  • OFA Level 1
  • De-escalation skills
  • Ability to work more than one site.
Some of your responsibilities will include:
  • Foot patrols of residential building, interior and exterior
  • Access control of a residential building
  • Maintaining a safe environment for residents and staff, handling any crisis situations in a calm and controlled manner
  • Offering first class customer service to the client and members of the public
  • Proactively responding to and resolving emergency situations and conflicts
  • Maintaining detailed and accurate daily logs and incident reports
  • Effectively communicating problems or concerns to the Site Supervisor
