Not only is the department responsible for managing over 18,000 kilometers of provincial highways, it also manages the planning, design and construction of hospitals, schools and other government buildings.The Vehicle Management Agency #39;s mission is to provide fleet management and vehicle maintenance services to Government, on an economical basis and according to established standards, to enable clients to deliver quality services to the public.What you will doAs a member of the Vehicle Management Agency, your work will involve highly responsible supervisory and administrative work in the co-ordination and supervision of skilled staff in the maintenance, repair and overhaul of the equipment at a variety of repair facilities in the Edmundston District. Duties include:

  • Inspections and quality control
  • Human resources management
  • Long-range planning to support the efficient and safe operation of the district vehicle repair shops
  • Participating in the operation and utilization of a fully integrated fleet management system
  • Performing related administrative duties as required
  • Ensuring that all departmental policies and procedures, as well as Federal and Provincial Acts and guidelines, are adhered to.
Work environment
  • Office location: Edmundston
  • 40-hour work week
  • Travel within the district will be required
  • Occasional work on weekends and variable hours

Essential qualifications
  • High school graduation or GED supplemented by completion of post-secondary course work in a related mechanical or technical field
  • Minimum of six (6) years related work experience
  • Minimum of three (3) years experience in a supervisory capacity
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Valid Class 5 driver #39;s license as issued by the Province of New Brunswick
An equivalent combination of education, training and experience may be considered.Written and spoken competence in English and French is required. Please state your language capability.

Asset Qualifications
  • Financial management experience including managing budgets
  • Experience in managing shop operations
