More information can be found here.Your skills, confidence and initiative will be valued in this challenging role The Ministry of Health has overall responsibility for ensuring that quality, appropriate, cost-effective, and timely health services are available to all British Columbians.Population and Public Health Division leads the development of strategic public policy and legislation, the planning of public health services, and supports high-quality health promotion, protection, and prevention initiatives with a focus on health equity, in collaboration with partners within and beyond the health sector.The Public Health, Prevention and Planning Branch provides leadership, policy direction, monitoring and reporting on key public health priorities, including communicable disease; infection prevention and control; women’s, maternal and early childhood health; and public health planning and engagement. The Branch works with government, health system and community partners to develop policy and provide strategic direction for program planning, implementation, and evaluation.This position is responsible for providing policy analysis, advice and support for issues related to the promotion of women’s, maternal, and early childhood health. Managing projects, conducting research, analyzing and developing strategic policy alternatives and recommendations, and contributing to the development of strategic frameworks, analytical reports and other documents is required. As issues frequently entail overlapping jurisdictions with other provincial ministries, government agencies, health authorities, community organizations and other stakeholders, the position may also conduct, participate in or support consultations with internal and external stakeholder groups.The capital of British Columbia, Victoria is a beautiful city, with beautiful beaches and harbours, and a variety of provincial parks to explore. • Master’s degree in Business or Public administration, Health Sciences, Social Sciences or a related field and a minimum of 1 year recent, related experience; OR
• Bachelor’s Degree in Business or Public administration, Health Sciences, Social Sciences or a related field and a minimum of 2 years recent, related experience; OR
• Diploma in Business or Public administration, Health Sciences, Social Sciences or a related field and a minimum of 4 years recent, related experiences; OR

Recent (within last 7 years), minimum related experience in each of the following:

• Experience researching policy issues and conducting policy analysis.
• Experience managing projects and/or project components.
• Experience working collaboratively with stakeholders.
• Experience in concisely and persuasively writing a range of documents or briefing materials.

Preference may be given to applicants with:

• Experience in the health care policy or social policy sector.
• Self-identify as having an Indigenous heritage (First Nations, Metis or Inuit).
