Studio 106 is a small gallery and gift store located in the historic Seaman’s Institute Building at 106 Superior St, Victoria, BC. We feature artists and artisans that are inspired by the natural world. As we are in a high traffic tourist area and we have a wide range of customers. We greatly value all our customers whether they are buying an art card or an expensive sculpture.Job description – assisting in general operation of the gallery- Working knowledge of artistic practices and mediums- Customer service – Cheerful, friendly service to all clients, big and small- Sales transactions – operating cash register, packaging fragile art pieces- Maintaining inventory in the gift area- Assisting with ordering new inventory- Assisting with curating new pieces for the gallery- Assisting with planning and preparing for new exhibits- Comfortable with hanging art work and moving sculptures, displays etc.- Assisting with social media and promotion- Representing the gallery in a professional manner to clients and our partners- Cleaning – dusting, sweeping, cleaning floors- Comfortable in a both a busy environment and times when it is slow- Willing to work weekendsWe can offer a unique experience of a boutique gallery that caters to a wide range of customers, artists, artisans and business partners, in a flexible, comfortable environment.Dress – business casual.Hours - Currently - Tuesday to Sunday 10 – 6.
