Job Description

Politics Today is hiring a full-time reporter for its daily political newsletter BC Today.BC Today, Queen’s Park Today, AB Today and Parliament Today are subscription-based political newsletters — think Axios meets Politico Pro — read by thousands of professionals in Canada’s political sphere.We are seeking an experienced reporter to cover the ins and outs of the B.C. legislature, including question period, legislative debate and palace intrigue, of course.Ideally, you have newsroom experience covering daily politics in a major municipality, Canadian province or on Parliament Hill. The role includes membership in the B.C. legislative press gallery.In addition to having strong journalistic fundamentals, the desired candidate is self-motivated and very reliable. You must be able to work independently and hold your work to a high standard.The position is a great opportunity to work with a fun, dedicated team of reporters across the country who are incredibly knowledgeable about their beats. A politics-lover’s dream.Qualifications

  • Ability to craft news into excellent newsletter content
  • Commitment to objective and factually accurate reporting
  • Strong and lively writing style
  • Knowledge of parliamentary procedure
  • Deep understanding of hot political issues in British Columbia
  • Keen interest in the inner workings of politics and policy-making
