Caffe Fantastico is an independent, quality focused coffee company with three bustling licensed restaurant locations in Victoria. We have an exciting new career opportunity opening up for Location Manager at the Fantastico bar-deli at Dockside Green.Our talented team work together to create a truly unique guest experience, combining espresso service with licensed waterfront dining options and curated deli sales. Our deli focuses on procuring the finest meats and cheese from both BC and around the world. Our knowledgeable and passionate staff are eager to spend time helping guests build the perfect charcuterie board to take home. Our kitchen also produces a growing selection of house-made products alongside a variety of local curated grocery items. Our menu is light and playful and is centered around local ingredients, made up of creative, yet approachable seasonal dishes.We are looking for a passionate and driven individual to join and support our growing team as Location Manager. This position contributes to Caffe Fantastico’s success by reporting to the General Manger and overseeing and executing all site operations. This position supervises and directs a team made up of department supervisors and wonderful staff, and works closely with the Dockside Chef to create and maintain the Caffe Fantastico experience for customers and staff alike.Management duties include:

• Manages the day-to-day operations and service of restaurant, counter deli sales, espresso bar
• Work with department leads to manage location labour and product costs
• Wine, cider, beer management and education
• Works closely with Chef through seasonal menu creation and feature dishes
• General administrative duties and scheduling
• Assist and contribute to promotions and marketing
• Maintains equipment in working order; troubleshooting issues and coordinating solutions

Product and inventory management:

• Weekly and monthly inventory, ordering and quality checks
• Receiving deliveries: checking for quality and accuracy, maintaining batch logs
• Dry and cold storage organization and management
• Maintaining food safety standards and staff training
• Cultivating relationships with vendors; maintaining and expanding supplier relationships; while regularly working on cost levels
• Ensures merchandising and display of products is always to standard
• Catering and events coordination

Requirements:

• A love of cheese, food, cider, wine, craft beer and are enthusiastic in sharing that love to others in an approachable, inclusive way
• Strong desire to expand knowledge on unique products
• Able to offer constructive feedback and coaching to staff, assist in training and hiring
• Availability on weekends
• 2 years+ restaurant management experience or strong restaurant management background
• Managerial and serving experience
• Food Safety Certification
• Serving it Right

Job Types: Full-time, PermanentSalary: $19.00-$22.00 per hourAdditional pay:
