A high level of judgment and professionalism is required because they serve as the main interface between the judiciary and the public and carry out an important gate-keeping role. The main function of Supreme Court Scheduling is to coordinate the scheduling of trials, hearings, and conferences on behalf of the judiciary. As such, the scheduling staff are part of the administration of justice and occupy a unique position in working closely with members of the judiciary and protecting judicial independence. The role requires staff to understand the role of the judiciary as an independent branch of government. Scheduling staff work closely with other government departments which provide support services to the Supreme Court, including Court Services Branch and the sheriffs.The capital of British Columbia, Victoria is a beautiful city, with beautiful beaches and harbours, and a variety of provincial parks to explore.
