More information can be found here.Bring your strong administrative experience and superior organizational skills to this challenging positionThe Corporate Policy and Planning Office (CPPO) is part of the Cannabis, Consumer Protection and Corporate Policy Branch in the Ministry of Public Safety and Solicitor General. CPPO provides corporate support for the ministry, including Emergency Management BC. Core services include planning, coordination and delivery of the ministry’s policy and legislative agenda; leading strategic planning, performance and corporate reporting functions; and coordinating ministry participation in federal/provincial/territorial engagements and other core government engagements. CPPO is also responsible for leading the development of provincial consumer protection policy as well as providing leadership for the ministry on cross-branch and government-wide policy initiatives. CPPO’s consumer protection role also involves overseeing two independent delegated authorities that are responsible for the administration of provincial consumer protection legislation. These agencies are Consumer Protection BC and the Vehicle Sales Authority.Reporting to the Executive Director, the administrative assistant is critical to the successful operation of the office. The position is responsible for providing office management, administration support and secretarial services to the Executive Director, Directors and staff. The administrative assistant works with a high degree of independence and under limited supervision, frequently dealing with highly confidential and sensitive matters. The position is required to create solutions and resolve a range of issues to ensure the operational goals of the organization are fully supported. The position interacts closely with ministry executive, senior staff, central agency officials, the ministers office and the assistant deputy minister’s and deputy ministers office staff.
