Job Description

Matrix is hiring for Concrete Finishers for an exciting $250 million-dollar project in Victoria, BC. The pay rate is $36.71/hr. Paid travel provided as well as $150.00 per day LOA (for those residing outside of Vancouver Island). Our client is one of Canadas leading construction company.Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist with the placement and finishing of concrete for walls, beams, and minor slab areas with the team.
  • Tie holes, insect holes, and make repairs to concrete walls.
  • Operate a variety of electric and air-powered chipping hammers efficiently.
  • Use power vibrators to ensure that concrete is properly consolidated.
  • Using a straightedge or a float, level the top surface of the concrete according to the grade and depth standards.
  • Ensure that all health and safety laws are adhered to.
  • To cure surfaces, apply hardening and sealing components.
  • Make use of a variety of hand and power tools.
  • Effectively communicates, is adaptable, and discusses and resolves concerns
Requirements:
  • Must have proper personal protective gear (steel-toe rubber boots, hard hat, protective glasses, vest, glasses)
  • A government security clearance is required. We can assist with this.
Qualifications:
  • Ability to operate and be certified a manlift (aerial boom lift)
  • Must have proper personal protective gear (steel-toe rubber boots, hard hat, protective glasses, vest, glasses)
  • 3 to 5 years experience concrete finishing
