Job Description

Overall Purpose: Power To Be is a non-profit organization that creates access to nature for youth, families, and adults living with cognitive, physical, financial, and social barriers. Working with Power To Be is an opportunity to be part of impactful and lasting societal change.As our main Content Creator, you are a visual-communications professional who can conceptualize, pitch, and create engaging social media content and produce high-quality, inspiring campaign posters, postcards, banners, advertisements and more. In collaboration with our Marketing and Communications team, you will work to raise our organization’s profile and brand. This role reports to our Head of Marketing and Communications and thrives with a high degree of autonomy.SPECIFIC JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:Marketing and Communications

  • Create and implement social media strategies in support of Power To Be initiatives, including Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, and Twitter campaigns while contributing to web strategies like basic SEO
  • Design, prepare and distribute print and digital marketing materials including ads, posters, rack cards, reports, presentations, promotional products and other internal/external pieces as needed for Power To Be programs, marketing and communications plans, and major fundraising events
  • Development of high-quality written content like blog posts, interviews, etc that adheres to our brand standards
  • Provide support in the development and maintenance of an annual communications and marketing plan
  • Communicate with internal and external stakeholders in a way that represents the Power To Be brand
  • Procure, maintain and oversee the inventory of Power To Be promotional materials and event supplies
  • Ensure Power To Be brand guidelines are used in all communications streams
  • Provide support to Marketing and Communications team members as required
Organization
  • Contribute to a positive and dynamic working culture in line with Power To Be’s values
  • Adhere to all Power To Be policies and procedures and applicable legislation as they relate to staff and volunteer practices
  • Participate in a Power To Be program once per quarter
  • Support the creation of digital content, print content and graphic design services for the team
  • Complete all work in accordance with public relations codes of professional ethics, standards, and practices, privacy regulations and relevant law

  • As per the Ministry of Justice requirements for organizations that work with vulnerable populations, a Criminal Record Check (CRC) and Criminal Record Review Act Check (CRRA) will be required.
  • 1-2 years of demonstrated experience in:
  • Creating, filming, and designing engaging social media content including leading social media campaigns
  • Comprehensive experience with Instagram, TikTok, Facebook and Twitter
  • Marketing to a wide range of targeted demographics (communities, age groups, etc.)
  • Conceptualizing, filming, and editing simple videos and photographs, and the ability to deliver a polished, final product ready for use on a variety of digital, broadcast, and print platforms.
  • Graphic design including photo editing and creation of templates, documents, and promotional items
  • Sourcing and procuring promotional items
  • Writing blog posts, conducting interviews, and contributing to other written and digital content
  • Contributing to branding, marketing, communications and public relations principles, strategies, techniques, and concepts
  • Experience with Adobe Creative Suite, especially InDesign, and Android, iPhone, Apple and PC
  • Knowledge of branding, marketing, communications, and public relations principles, strategies, techniques, and concepts
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently with minimal supervision to accomplish high-profile tasks, meet multiple and concurrent deadlines, and manage projects to completion
  • Must have experience or proven interest in working with a non-profit organization
  • Access to reliable transportation to get to and from work at Prospect Lake
  • Proof of full vaccination against COVID-19 required
Assets:
  • Academic accreditation in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, Digital Media, or in a related field
  • Experience working on marketing and communications projects specific to fundraising campaigns
