On site contractor Forensic Examiner with 5+ years recent digital forensics experience and expertise with a Canadian Law Enforcement agency. Retired or active with written approval to do contract work for our company. Must be qualified, or in possession of, Government of Canada PWGSC Secret clearance or higher.As a digital Forensic Examiner your primary focus will be performing computer and mobile forensic examinations for Law Enforcement, Military, Government, law firms, corporations, and individuals. General responsibilities of the position include:Handling computer hard drives and storage devices to analyze user patterns and prepare reports from findings.Perform analyses of mobile electronic devices including but not limited to cellular, telephones, tablets, GPS equipment, Hard disks, Memory cards, Optical disks, etc.Using different computer programs to recover information from destroyed media devices; and preparing detailed reports after running computer analysis software applications.Need to handle and receive evidence carefully and keep accurate logs of duties performed.Strong understanding of operating systems (such as Windows, Apple, Linux), Files systems, familiar with hardware, familiar with forensic imaging best practicesStrong understanding of mobile device preservation and related analysis for Android, Apple, and Blackberry devices.Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English, including the ability to convey highly technical information in an easy to understand written report.Excellent organizational skills and the ability to prioritize itemsInstallation, maintenance and testing of the forensic computing environment (hardware, software and forensic techniques) and related equipment; analyzes and evaluates computer systems and software proposed for implementation and makes recommendations.Provides testimony in court regarding the evidence collected and methodologies used to acquire the evidence as well as expert opinion on the Identification, Preservation, Extraction, Interpretation and Presentation of Digital EvidenceExperience/Expertise with the major examination tools such as X-Ways, Axiom, and CellebriteFull understanding of proper data collection techniques, chain of custody, documentation and Federal/Provincial Search and Seizure GuidelinesExcellent communication skills – in particular the ability to explain technical issues to clients, lawyers and juries in simple termsConducts research, validates tests done by the Computer Forensic Analysts and attends advanced training into new technology and develops new techniques to update and improve forensic processes and tools used in the searching, seizing, preserving, processing and presentation of digital devices and electronically stored informationForensic certification(s) such as COMFOR, EnCE, CCME, GCFE, CFCE, CCE or other related technical certifications or be willing to take them.Some local travel required, mileage and expenses covered.Casual start/stop times, work part time of full time.Take time off as you need to an extendContractor - work get paid, take time off, no compensationFurther opportunities for income teaching our curriculum, exhibiting at conferences and public speaking events within Canada and the UK/EU, expenses covered.Job Types: Full-time, Part-timePart-time hours: 32-40 per weekSalary: $50.00-$100.00 per hourBenefits:
