If you have strong culinary skills, we are looking for Cook’s Assistant to join our team and undertake the responsibilities described below.Job Description and Responsibilities:

• Assist cook with daily preparation menu items
• Wash and chop vegetables, clean seafood, and prepare other ingredients before for cooking
• General garbage removal and recycling
• Follow safety standards for storing, handling, and preparing food
• Maintaining a clean work environment and ensure the kitchen meets sanitation standards

• All duties will be performed in accordance with the Fairmont Empress’ commitment to luxury service standards

Employment Qualifications and Requirements:

• Completion of secondary school
• Food Safety Certificate, or willingness to obtain before the employment start date
• Physically capable of: Continuous standing for extended periods of time, frequent lifting and carrying of up to 50lbs, working in hot and cold station environments

Your Skills Include:

• Fluent English language and communication skills
• Be capable of taking direction
