We are one of Canada’s Top Employer, Join UsAre you ready to make an impact in the DEI & Sustainability space within a growing Top EmployerAre you passionate about making a differenceDIVERSITY, EQUITY, AND INCLUSION (DEI) AND SUSTAINABILITY SPECIALIST - RemoteReporting to the Manager, Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Sustainability, you will support the design, implementation, and management of programs and initiatives that further Western’s Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) and Sustainability strategies, contributing to creating a more diverse and inclusive workplace.Here is what a typical day looks like

  • Promoting a work environment that is accepting, emphasizes teamwork, has a respect for differences, and has an appreciation for constructive feedback
  • Providing support in obtaining diversity analytics, including benchmarking, tracking metrics, analyzing, and generating diversity reporting for various audiences to highlight trends and demonstrate impact of DEI programs and initiatives
  • Supporting Employee Resource Groups, serving as a resource in coordinating communications, budgets and expansion of ERGs based on employee interest/need
  • Facilitating the review of policies and providing input to ensure alignment with DEI best practices
  • Working with the Sustainability Reporting champions and stakeholders to develop a leading Sustainability approach; measuring and monitoring progress against key strategies, plans and commitments
  • Providing insight and direction regarding sustainability, social impact trends
  • Partnering with leadership to integrate sustainability practices into strategic and annual goals across the enterprise
  • Collaborating with key internal and external stakeholders to provide relevant analysis and recommendations on sustainability programs and reporting
The value you bring
  • Related experience or diploma/degree in Human Resources, or related field
  • 2+ years focused on development and implementation of DEI initiatives
  • Experience supporting sustainability programs would be an asset
  • Demonstrated strong Excel skills and ability to work with large sets of data
  • Excellent communication, both written and verbal, ability to effectively collaborate with Senior Leaders
  • Proven track record of critical thinking; ability to leverage data and insights to influence and develop solutions
