Perovskite solar cells have received tremendous attention in recent years due to their unprecedented sprint in power conversion efficiency and ease of processing. Despite great success, some challenges still remain to be addressed to facilitate the commercialization of this exciting technology. Solairesis looking for a coating technician for its Research & Development team reporting to the Research Manager.Duties and responsibilities

  • Assist with building a state-of-the-art laboratory for scalable coating.
  • Following Standard Operation Procedure (SOP) for solution-processed thin-film coating (slot-die and blade coating) for perovskite devices.
  • Create a design of experiments and perform and demonstrate iterative improvements to coating processes.
  • Generate and maintain documentation such as SOP, SDS, and QC reports.
  • Generate critical empirical data to support and validate results generated from different coating parameters and processes.
  • Support project leads in their experimentation and product development activities to design suitable architectures for perovskite solar cells and modules.
  • Capable of working with different coating and characterizing equipment, troubleshooting, and identifying problems.
  • Actively maintain and promote the highest Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) standards and contribute to EHS process improvements and their implementation
Experience required:
  • 1-2 years of experience in thin-film research and development.
  • Experience in slot die/blade-coating for thin-film fabrication is an asset
  • Well-organized and highly skilled in reporting results with a good familiarity with spreadsheets or other data analysis software.
  • Presentations for high-level decision-making with an entrepreneurial mindset to be in a start-up environment, flexible to adapt to tasks based on demands within the company.
  • Proactive, excellent communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to work in a team.
  • High attention to detail.
  • Industry experienced preferred
Education:
  • Recent Masters/Undergraduate degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, Physics, Organic Chemistry, or a related field.
