(Part-Time, hours and wage to be negotiated)Basic FunctionThe Victoria Rowing Society (VRS) contracts the operation of the Elk Lake Boathouse, in Victoria, BC, to an individual. The designated “Boathouse Manager” works closely with the VRS Vice President (Operations), theVRS Treasurer and the VRS Operations Committee to handle the day-to-day management of the boathouse and related facilities.EducationBudget, Financial and Material ResponsibilitiesProject Coordination & SupervisionExperienceSupervisionGrant Research and ApplicationBasic Rowing Background an AssetContract ManagementProperties ManagementOffice AdministrationSkillsCommunicationProblem SolvingTime Management (effective blocking of duties)Knowledge of safety standards (i.e., WorkSafeBC) and industry best practices.Personal CharacteristicsExcellent analytical, critical thinking, judgement and problem-solving skillsAbility to manage multiple priorities or projects simultaneously and keep them progressing to completionSuperior communication skills, both written and verbalAbility to build and maintain productive working relationships with all boathouse members and stakeholdersAbility to work independently and collaboratively in a team environmentAbility to work effectively with a diverse population and with all levels of boathouse experience.Demonstrated administrative and organizational skillsAbility to problem solve and make decisions when presented with ambiguity and grey circumstancesDemonstrated leadership, supervisory skills and the ability to inspire a teamOtherClear Criminal RecordDrivers LicenseAuthorities Expenses up to the established limitManage ContractsManage Direct Reports (i.e., summer students)Represent VRS Boathouse to External RelationshipsDuties Regular and methodical review of facilities needs for maintenance and upkeep.Execute maintenance and upkeep of contracts necessary for efficient facility operations.Maintains active communication with all internal and external stakeholders.Document and execute daily/weekly/monthly processes, procedures, checklist.Create and update processes, procedures, checklists and other documentation.Accurately tracks and reports all working hoursAttends regular meetings and other meetings as requested.Additional Information The above statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed by the position.
