In this role, you will provide comprehensive legal counsel and representation to clients navigating various family law matters, including divorce, separation, child custody, and property division. As part of a collaborative team, you will work on finding practical solutions to sensitive issues, helping clients achieve favorable outcomes.Key Responsibilities

• Advise clients on family law issues, including prenuptial agreements, cohabitation agreements, separation and divorce proceedings, and child/spousal support.
• Represent clients in family court, as well as in negotiation, mediation, and arbitration settings.
• Draft and prepare a variety of legal documents, such as affidavits, pleadings, applications, and related paperwork.
• Manage client expectations and maintain effective communication throughout the legal process.
• Collaborate with other team members and external experts (such as financial advisors, mediators, and mental health professionals) to provide comprehensive support.
• Stay informed on developments in family law and applicable court rulings.

Qualifications

• Active membership in good standing with the Law Society of British Columbia.
• At least 5 years of experience in family law practice.
• Strong understanding of family law legislation, rules, and procedures in British Columbia.
• Proven ability to manage complex and sensitive family law cases effectively.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills for managing client relationships.
• Strong negotiation and litigation skills.
• Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively with a team.
• Book of business required

Compensation:

• Base salary depending on the year of call
