Job Description

Finance ManagerWe are seeking a part-time Finance Manager who will also have basic responsibilities in Human Resources matters, managing computer systems, social media and advertising. There is some flexibility in the hours for this Monday to Friday role. This position is located in Sidney, working from our office on Amelia Avenue. This position has potential to grow into a full-time role in the future.Sea Power Marine is a marine service center located on beautiful Vancouver Island. We are the main dealer in the region for Mercury, Volvo, Kabola and Hamilton Jet. We pride ourselves in excellent customer service and top-notch expertise.We offer:

Our ideal candidate is someone who enjoys a small, cohesive environment where you are encouraged to express your point of view and recommend changes and improvements and who is willing to assist in other areas outside of the job description where necessary, for example, greeting walk in customers or helping at trade shows.Duties & Responsibilities: The following is a summary of your duties and responsibilities to be managed and shared with your support staff:
  • Monitor and maintain the accounting systems and records
  • Monitor cash flow
  • Manage bank and credit card accounts and petty cash
  • Manage accounts receivable and follow up with problem accounts
  • Manage accounts payable and process payments on timely basis
  • Manage recording and financing of inventory of engines and outboard motors
  • Manage customer financing for engine purchases when necessary
  • Manage recording of internal jobs and close when complete
  • Manage company payroll and leave requests
  • Manage employee benefits plan
  • Manage general insurance policies and ICBC garage policy
  • Report and remit government related items such as payroll taxes, provincial and federal sales taxes, Worksafe BC, BC health tax, ITA apprenticeship hours, year end T4’s and others as required
  • Prepare monthly financial reports for management
  • Prepare annual year end working papers for external accountants
  • Prepare budgets and reports on any special projects such as new product lines or opportunities
  • Maintain accounting software and general computer systems
Requirements:
  • Minimum 3 years experience in Accounting and Finance
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Able to work independently as well as part of a team
  • Excellent time management skills, adaptable and flexible and able to multi-task and meet deadlines
  • Strong organizational skills
Qualification:
  • Accounting certificate/diploma or enrolled in a CPA accreditation program
  • Basic computers and software knowledge
